I worked as the Media Officer for the Cardiff University Motorsports Club (21/22) and as part of that I did some photography and graphic design to try and spruce up the instagram feed of the account and engage more prospective members. This page is simply a selection of the instagram posts I created.
IGOR by Tyler The Creator, a great album, in my opinion, the album of the year. I decided to re-design the cover and produced these results
Refrative materials created in Cinema 4D using Octane Materials, this was purely an experiment to create interesting looking results, playing with Octane render settings and the material node editor. In the last images, I used a 'BLKMARKET' plugin called Inklab, to simulate a print effect.
This is an album art concept for the Weeknd's new studio project 'After Hours'. All of the work was completed in Photoshop.
The process began with a hunt for a suitable image of Aries (musician). Once found, the creation of the poster became easy to visualise due to the specific visual style adopted by Aries. A landscape photo taken by myself earlier was used for the background, after being edited to give a distorted relatively high contrasted image. I applied a gradient filter over the background and moved on to typography. Once the text was done, I applied the poster to a poster mockup by BLKMARKET.
Porter Robinson's album Worlds was recommended to me by a friend. This album art redesign was purely done out of boredom in a short time scale. The planet looking render at the centre of the image was created in Cinema 4D, a sphere with an abstract diffuse material. Then I put the render into Photoshop and created the rest of the cover art. This isn't one of my favourite pieces. While I like the render and the background, the text doesn't work as well as I would like it. However, this was a very quickly designed piece.
TEN WXLVES asked me to create an album cover for his debut EP, 808 PVNKS. His music is very heavy, grungy and wanted the cover to portray that. I'd recently stumbled across the website threedscans.com which contained high quality scans of historical statues and figures. I used this OBJ in Cinema 4D and created procedurally generated ivy on the object. Once in Photoshop I composited the final image, ensuring contrast was high to match the brief
Obsident's third project with me, this time I was given pre-recorded footage and was asked to compose it into a presentable video to be used for marketing purposes. This page includes that finished video.
This is the marketing campaign for MINIMXLAPPAREL's debut drop which included various materials, including Instagram posts and a promotional video.
Cycles render was used to create my first ever smoke simulation. I tried messing around with the physics simulation of the smoke, by playing with the parameters and trying to find an output which looked good for the look which I was trying to achieve.
Obsident Co. asked me to help them advertise their first drop, including a video advert and a complete photoshoot. This advert had to be short and sweet, as it would be seen by thousands. The entire design process is outlined on this page.
One of the first times I had ever used Cinema 4D and After Effects together, whilst I was aged 14. This project was a result of me going above and beyond for a school project, just so I could flex my creative muscles. Nevertheless, I remain happy with this project to this day, apart from some of the awful sentences that were given screen time.
